About Ali

Trained in the person-centred approach I have a deeply held belief that we each have within us more wisdom to support ourselves through our stuck or traumatised places than we can possibly imagine. I love having the opportunity to meet with each unique individual and the chance to work together to unlock that hidden potential which can be the guide to a more fulfilled and authentic life.

Based in Edinburgh, I am experienced in working with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, abuse, bereavement, loss, trauma, sexual identity and relationship difficulties. I obtained my Postgraduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling in 2001 from the University of Strathclyde. Over the last 15 years I have worked part-time with students in a university counselling service and run my own private practice. I have also worked in a young people's counselling service and set up a service for young carers.

About BACP

I am a Registered Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and committed to work within the BACP ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy.
